"Pink" Holiday Light Up Night Announced

First Commonwealth is proud to announce the official lighting of the First Commonwealth Holiday Trees on Monday, December 1st at 5 p.m. in front of the Old Courthouse in Downtown Indiana, PA.  While the Light Up Night for Indiana is scheduled for Friday, November 28th – the same date that our building will be illuminated – our two holiday trees will be showcased and illuminated on the following Monday . . . and you’re invited to join us!

Hosted by First Commonwealth for Women, this special, inaugural tree lighting event will feature:

  • Breast Cancer Awareness Information provided by the Indiana Regional Medical Center
  • Furry, adoptable friends visiting from the Indiana County Humane Society
  • Carolers & Christmas music
  • Pink cookies
  • Hot chocolate
  • Gift basket giveaway (register upon arrival)
  • And, of course, holiday trees adorned in pink!

Together, we’ll count down to the lighting of two 15-foot trees, both decorated in pink lights and pink bows to help raise awareness in our company and our community about breast cancer . . . and to show our support to those affected by the disease.

The facts are startling: breast cancer touches millions of lives and is diagnosed every day in our community. Without a cure, 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will continue to be diagnosed with breast cancer - a devastating disease with physical, emotional, psychological and financial pain that can last a lifetime. Over the next 25 years, an estimated 5 million Americans will be diagnosed with breast cancer - and without a cure - more than 1 million could die.
